Canonical Entity
The primary, consistently identified person, organization, or thing that a page and its structured data describe.
A canonical entity has a stable identity that copy, URLs, structured data, and external references can point toward. Consistency helps systems avoid treating the same person or property as several unrelated things.
Canonical identification is not the same as claiming every related site or profile is equivalent. Relationships should be typed accurately.
